Started in January 2019 in East London by friends Sicgmone Kludje & Vea Koranteng, the Black Girl Knit Club was set up to empower black women through craft and to answer the call for more diversity in the craft community.
MISSION STATMENT: Our aim is to create an inclusive space for black women and women of colour to gather, unite, and inspire each other through the confidence of encouraging hand knitting skills and in turn create a learning platform that highlights the importance of creativity in our community. In addition our hope is to empower the next generation especially in our community by hosting monthly workshops, talks and collaborating with other British owned small businesses.

You can buy a range of prints, e-books, and yarn from BGKC’s online shop here and find out more about their events and workshops over on their website / @blackgirlknitclub
There are a host of BGKC tutorials available for free over on Youtube.
